Located in the Star Casino in Pyrmont, Flying Fish specializes in artful seafood. PKD’s creative vision took inspiration from coastal New South Wales, expressed through ocean-inspired macramé sculptures, a bespoke carpet drawing on the cartography of the coastline, and ADesignStudio’s unique light sculptures referencing fish roe.

The installations are made up of hundreds of round and organic-shaped handblown illuminated glass orbs. The studio’s collections reveal a distinctly expressive approach to transforming space with light, using both traditional skills (glassblowing and metalworking) and contemporary lighting and manufacturing technologies, to find a perfect balance between the scientific and the poetic. Grown from a fascination with luminaries and the interplay with space and volume, ADesignStudio beautifully fuses the romance of amber hues with innovation and a rigorous understanding of light.

The studio is based in Sydney, Australia, and distributes internationally.
