“Sweven” is a sophisticated celebration of diverse design styles within a joint family setup, creating a harmonious and luxurious home. The design was inspired by family preferences and merging different architectural styles together. Each space brings out an era of design and its distinct features while harmoniously coexisting with each other to create a cohesive look.

This project is a testament to the evolution of family structures in India, where generations with differing ideologies, practices, and lifestyles create a home full of vibrancy and harmony and celebrate the differences in lifestyle. Representing the coming together of such multifarious personalities into a family, Sweven by Open Atelier Mumbai is a celebration of the juxtaposition of varying styles into a harmonious home.

Could you elaborate on the remarkable architectural features in Sweven?
There are a lot of design interventions which together make the design remarkable. Curated furniture from international brands and intelligent home systems elevate the living experience to new heights.

What are the goals you want to achieve by using distinctive design styles?
This duplex apartment redefines the concept of home by seamlessly blending distinctive design styles. By collaborating with workshops, designing with material availability in mind, utilising controlled environments, and implementing automation, we have taken significant steps to reduce waste, lower our carbon footprint, and create an environmentally conscious setup that sets a benchmark for future endeavours. Sweven is an exciting exploration of all things luxury while being conscious of its impact on the planet.

What is the consideration for Sweven’s choice of decorations and accessories.
Elements like consciously curated art pieces and upholstery add a touch of originality and creativity to the space. Our artistic path for this project entailed not only incorporating artwork but also textures that defined a tone. The aesthetic inspiration for all spaces is primarily dictated by the selection of decor items, artefacts and artwork specially curated for each member of the family.

Design factors such as visual appeal, space sensitivity, and conceptual considerations go behind the array of decor pieces and accessories chosen. The chandelier sourced from Andreea Brauscu reflects the characteristics of the residents and is the heart of the space. For another instance, the Flos belted light piece in the stairwell shows the layering of different styles in various places of the house.
