Urban Golf: Architecture, Technology, and Hospitality in One Experience

Mulligan Golf Bar introduces a new model of urban golf, blending architecture, technology, and hospitality into a single experience. The interior reinterprets the Scottish Highlands— the cradle of golf — not as décor but as an abstract, architectural atmosphere. A ceiling installation reminiscent of rippling heather fields sets the tone, supported by tiered flooring and handcrafted wooden “stones” that ground the space in material clarity and sculptural calm.

Two TrackMan IO simulators form the core technology of this project.

At its core are two TrackMan IO simulators offering precise data, fast mini-games, and full 18-hole rounds. Mulligan delivers Prague’s first hospitality-driven indoor golf experience, complemented by a bar and café. Its name, meaning “a second chance,” captures the project’s ambition: opening the game to new audiences while giving seasoned players a place to stay connected to the sport.

Players hit the ball into a soft projection screen, while radar and camera technology track every detail of the swing, instantly displaying the ball’s trajectory and movement.

The Mulligan Golf Bar project represents a new approach to urban golf – a place where architecture, technology, and atmosphere work together as one. Designed by the architects of 20–20–ARCHITEKTI, the 130 m² space in Smíchov City is conceived as a reinterpretation of an outdoor sport within an urban interior.

Players use real clubs, real balls, and enjoy an authentic playing sensation.

The architectural concept draws inspiration from the Scottish Highlands, the cradle of golf. The architects’ goal was not to create a thematic decoration but to materialize a landscape – to translate its form, structure, and mood into an interior. The ceiling installation, reminiscent of a heather field, transforms the space into an abstract piece of nature. It ripples above the players’ heads like a living relief, creating a dynamic play of colour, light, and shadow. Below it unfolds a composition of tiered flooring with five freely placed “stones” – handcrafted wooden artifacts that connect the landscape motif with the world of design. Concrete, wood, and deep shades of green form the material palette that emphasizes the raw poetry of the design. The composition is restrained, allowing the architecture to serve as a backdrop for movement, light, play, and social interaction.

The café and bar area is also a key element, inspired by Scottish traditions.

The layout is designed with clarity and smooth flow in mind. From the entrance bar and reception, the space transitions into a calm zone and then to a pair of TrackMan IO simulators, which form the technological core of the project – combining precise training data with fast mini-games or full 18-hole rounds, even on legendary courses like St Andrews.

The architectural concept is inspired by the Scottish Highlands, widely recognized as the birthplace of golf.

Mulligan brings to central Prague the first truly hospitality-led indoor golf experience without compromise – with a real club, real ball, and the authentic feeling of play. Players hit into a soft projection screen while radar and camera technology track every detail of the swing, instantly displaying the ball’s flight and trajectory. Beginners appreciate the instant feedback and friendly atmosphere; groups enjoy the fun and competition; advanced players value the detailed statistics and leaderboards – each at their own pace and style.

Handcrafted wooden artifacts bridge landscape motifs with the world of design.

This concept, which has gained massive popularity in South Korea and is rapidly expanding across the USA and European cities, introduces golf to a new audience while giving experienced players the chance to stay in the game at any time of day. Mulligan is the exclusive partner of Albatross Golf Resort, host of the European Tour tournaments, bringing its sporting precision and culture of the game to Prague.

The Mulligan Golf Bar project delivers an indoor golf experience rooted in hospitality.

Also noteworthy is the café and bar area, offering specialty coffee, original cocktails, and a whisky program inspired by Scottish tradition. This is not a mere accessory but an integral part of the overall atmosphere – a space equally suited for focused practice as for an evening conversation at the bar.

The Mulligan Golf Bar project represents a new approach to urban golf.

The name Mulligan, meaning “a second chance” in golf, takes on a symbolic dimension here – an invitation for both seasoned players and those eager to try something new.
